Following the life of a Polish immigrant, Martyna Majok's Ironbound highlights the loneliness and struggle of moving to a foreign country. Darja toughs out domestic violence and poverty to care for the only thing in the world that is hers; her son. By using a very
limited color palette, I aimed to emphasize the restriction that
comes with being working class. Their clothes not only protect them
from the elements but from each other as well.
